Cylinder Oil
Cylinder Oil (Low / High BN Grades)
Cylinder lubricants designed for slow-speed marine diesel engines using residual fuels. They neutralize acids, prevent ring wear, and reduce deposits on cylinder liners. Provide consistent protection and efficiency for long-haul marine operations.
Types: (H4)
- High-BN (70 BN to 140 BN
- Moderate-BN (40 BN to 70 BN)
- Low-BN (15 BN to 40 BN)
Key Features: (H4)
- High Alkalinity: High BN provides significant acid neutralization capacity to combat sulfuric acids produced by burning high-sulfur fuels, preventing corrosive wear (cold corrosion). High Detergency/Dispersancy: Keeps piston rings and liners clean by managing deposits and soot from heavy fuels.
- Balanced Protection: Offers a balance of alkalinity (BN) and detergency suitable for blended fuels that have some sulfur but less than HFO. Helps maintain cleanliness while preventing corrosion in modern engines designed for these fuels.
- Lower Alkalinity: Formulated for fuels with minimal to no sulfur, reducing the risk of excessive ash deposits on engine components while providing essential lubrication. Excellent Cleanliness: Often feature advanced additive packages (Category II oils for modern engines) for superior piston cleanliness and wear protection.
