Heat Transfer Oils
Heat Transfer Oils (H3)
Thermally stable oils designed for use in both open and closed heat transfer systems. They offer excellent thermal conductivity, oxidation stability, and long service life. Commonly used in chemical plants, textile mills, and industrial heating systems for consistent temperature control.
Types: (H4)
- Mineral Oils
- Synthetic Aromatics
- Silicone-Based Fluids
- Glycol-Based Fluids
Key Features: (H4)
- Cost-effective, good thermal stability at moderate temperatures, easy disposal, available in paraffinic or naphthenic forms.
- Excellent thermal stability at very high temperatures, high heat transfer efficiency, good solvency, but higher initial cost and potential for strong odors.
- Very high thermal stability, low toxicity, low propensity to form carbon/coke, excellent electrical insulating properties, and non-corrosive.
- Excellent for both heating and cooling, offer freeze protection when mixed with water, low oral toxicity (propylene glycol), good resistance to oxidation.
